Starting out
Change comes whether you're ready for it or not. It's good to embrace change, accept it, welcome it and most importantly create it.
We've had a lot of change over the last few years. Our kids have grown, started lives of their own, and become adults themselves. This has led us to have a lot more time on our hands. Some of this time has been consumed with hobby's, self-improvement, and traveling.
Travel has been one of the things that we have really enjoyed together. We had our first vacation without the kids to Mexico and the following year we spent some time in Ireland. We've made multiple trips to historical sites and small trips to visit friends and family.
Last year we decided it was time to purchase an RV, something we had planned to do for a few years. I had already purchased a truck so that we would be able to tow a 5th wheel trailer a little more than a year before and we decided that it was high time to bite the bullet and make that investment. We had spent some time looking already so we had an idea of what we wanted and we were just waiting for a good deal to come to us. In July we finally got our first truly mobile RV and spent the remainder of the good months taking short trips to local campgrounds with a longer trip from Ohio to Maryland to cap off our first year as new RV owners.
It's important here to stop and explain that we live in Ohio. I love where we live, it's close to major highways, a national park, and shopping is super convenient. The thing is, there is something that I really, really dislike, more that almost anything, I HATE the cold, and Ohio gets cold. There are so many beautiful places in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York to visit but with 6 months a year of cold temperatures, snow, ice, and slush I find myself stuck in the house for almost half a year.
We've discussed options for years and decided that this winter was enough. We like to travel, we have an RV and we are going to try getting away from the cold as best we can next winter.
I'm putting together this blog to record the things we do, trips we make, places we visit, and old and new friends we meet along the way.
We are the Lull's, and if in your busy day you looking for a break, you can find a Lull here.
