Following up on the matress
FYI for anyone who read this post:
That mattress is comfortable. It is so comfortable we bought one for home.
Disclaimer: I have no involvement with the company that makes it or any company or person that sells it (Other than buying other stuff from them) so I have nothing to gain from recommending this mattress other than letting you know that I think it's awesome and the price is better than you will find for anything comparable. YMMV
Now that is out of the way, really that thing is the best mattress I've slept on in years. We bought our previous mattress after reading a ton of reviews and paid more than double what we paid for this one and it was not bad at all, but after 9 years it's developing sleeping troughs that you sink into when you lay down and that is becoming uncomfortable. We decided to try this out for the camper and I liked it so much we decided to buy another to replace our old mattress.
Packaging:
Ours arrived in a box via UPS, and although it got delayed in shipping somehow, we got it in a week instead of the 2 day Amazon Prime told us it would happen. The box is heavy and I suggest two people carry it although nobody told this to the UPS driver that walked it up to the door like it was nothing. The box is between 3 and 4 feet long and a couple feet wide, a bit difficult to get a good grip on.
Unpacking:
It comes folded up and vacuum sealed in plastic wrapping that needs to be removed. That process was relatively easy even though moving it around is a bit difficult because of the size. The thing 'inflates' on it's own, and though they will say 'Allow 24 hours' for expansion, it really takes minutes.
Setup:
We already had a suitable frame, but we opted to get another since we decided to relocate our room upstairs. The frame we purchased is definitely not fancy but folds up neatly and will allow us to move the bed very simply should we decide to do so in the future. No box spring required, this bad boy is 10" thick and really only requires a solid base. (Message me if you want the details on our frame.)
Usage:
Lie flat in a horizontal and recumbent position, right or left Lateral Recumbent position, or Prone if you are one of those weirdos, Picture in your mind a field of sheep taking turns jumping over a fence, in this visualization imagine you are a sheep accountant responsible for evaluating the potential revenue to be gained from an annual sheep sheering where each sheep yields 10 lbs of wool worth $5 a pound. ( (x*10)*5 = y where x= the number of sheep and y is the potential profit.) Solve for x. Or do like 'The Donk', close your eyes, snore like a steam engine, and drool.
Result:
I find the bed extremely comfortable. I have read that some find it a bit firm for their taste and have opted to install a mattress topper. With that said, everyone is different and everybody has their own idea of what a good mattress should feel like so this is just another person suggesting something they like. Do your homework and find what works for you.
