Slow and low is our tempo

Aside from work things have been slow around here for a change, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been filling my time with projects.  It seems like we've been in GO mode for three straight months and its nice to have a little break in the action to recharge.  That said, I've gotten some things done around the house and still have more on my list.

I've replaced the kitchen faucet, we've put in the air conditioners, and done some weeding but it doesn't feel like I've yet scratched the surface of my to do list yet.  My to do list is long and contains some pretty ambitious items along with some smaller ones as well; Things like

  1. Fix/replace the roof over the deck
  2. Repair the water damage in the ceiling from my mouse friends that ate through a water line.
  3. Replace the tub faucet and hardware upstairs.
  4. Trim the trees that I can reach
  5. Finish cleaning the gutters.
  6. Repair some of the cracked/settling on the ceilings
  7. Build a planter box for the front yard
  8. Power wash the house and deck
  9. Clean out the pellet stove pipes
  10. Re-hang the kitchen sink
  11. ...
The list is much longer but you get the picture.  Anyone who owns a house knows that the list keeps getting longer even when you make progress and cross off a few items it's not long before they are replaced by new ones.

Oh well.  That is life!

That said, the electrician should be putting our 50amp plug for Chappie in at Karen's Mom's soon and we will be heading off to Michigan for a week or two followed almost immediately by Karen's sisters coming down to visit, a possible trip to Wisconsin after that, a trip to Gettysburg after that and then preparations will ensue for our trip to AZ for the winter and our Cali trip to end this year and kick off the next.

It occurs to me that in our travels this winter we will have to be on the lookout for a good Sunday brunch place in AZ to stand in for our Ohio favorite. Those are hard shoes to fill: .99 cent bloody mary's and steaks that look like this:

So Good!
