Time is in short supply!
My last update was a bit short since I was working on a Sunday and wanted to get something out here to let everyone know we are still alive. I thought since I had a few minutes I'd add a little more detail into where we are with the house, the Donk, the plans etc.
The House.
All the demo is done and we have been dried out and now it is time to have a contractor come through and give estimates on the work to get us back in shape to the insurance company. At this point we have chosen to have the same company that did the remediation work because they did a great job and were very pleasant to work with. All of the plastic is down but we are walking around on next to nothing in the kitchen and dining room. You can see directly into the basement through the cracks between the boards.
The Donk.
Surgery is scheduled for this week and we are hoping it's not too painful for her. The leg as it is has not been bothering her as much lately, but I'm afraid if we don't get it fixed it will get worse or she will have issues because of the pain medication if we keep her on it. Fingers crossed that she does well and heals quickly!
The Plans.
This one is a little more complicated. We've booked the campground in AZ for December, I think I have my time off arranged so that we will not be rushed going down there, and every indication is that the internet will work from there as well.
Our annual Gettysburg trip is cancelled. We decided to do this for a number of reasons. 1) The Donk may not be able to handle the trailer steps by then. 2) The Lake where Chappy is wants us to have Chappy moved by 9/30 as I stated earlier 3) I may have to make a trip to work during September 4) When we move Chappy, we'll be taking him to Michigan and leaving him there until we leave in November. 5) We don't know the timeline of the work that needs to be done on the house yet.
In short, too many moving parts. Life is an adventure!
